St. Malo had the most difficult path to the Keystone Cup after finishing sixth overall in the KJHL regular season. A first round matchup with third seeded OCN Storm, who won 17-straight games through January, started with a loss before a three-game turnaround.
League-best Selkirk Fishermen were the next opponent in the semifinals. The two teams battled in a seven-game series with St. Malo winning the finale 3-2.
